The artwork "Adentro" (Inside) by Alex Slonimsky is a fascinating journey into the depths of human psychology. Masterfully crafted with oil on linen canvas, this contemporary painting centers on an intense, raw portrait, framed like a window opening directly into the mind. The striking contrast between the warm, shadowed tones of the face, the soft blue-gray background, and the single magnetic red dot in the top corner creates an unforgettable visual tension.
Measuring 60x60 cm, this balanced square-format original painting commands attention through its psychological gravity and graphic boldness. The refined grain of the linen canvas beautifully elevates the dramatic chiaroscuro effects that sculpt the facial features. "Adentro" stands out as an exclusive artwork, perfectly suited to infuse high-end interior styling with raw emotion, artistic character, and sophisticated mystery.

Alex Slonimsky
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1989, Alex Slonimsky is a self-taught artist whose creative journey has unfolded across multiple disciplines. Before dedicating himself to visual art, he spent over a decade immersed in music and poetry as a composer and guitarist, experiences that continue to inform the rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional depth of his paintings.
Since turning his focus to painting, Slonimsky has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in observation, memory, and personal experience. Working primarily in oil on canvas, he transforms fragments of everyday life, travel, and human encounters into evocative compositions that balance intimacy with a sense of mystery. His work often explores the spaces between the familiar and the imagined, inviting viewers to engage with subtle narratives and emotional landscapes.
After relocating from Argentina to northern Chile in 2015 and later settling in Santiago, Slonimsky became an active presence in the Chilean contemporary art scene, participating in numerous exhibitions and art fairs. His work has been presented in solo exhibitions including Jardín de gente (2025), Aquellos márgenes (2024), and Adentro/Afuera (2023), alongside group exhibitions and major art fairs throughout Chile.
Today, Slonimsky lives and works in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico, where he continues to develop a body of work shaped by movement, cultural exchange, and a deep curiosity about the human experience.
