Alex G. Lazard’s artistic approach is characterized by a bold and continuous experimentation with unconventional materials. The artist frequently uses linoleum as a canvas, tar (chapopote) as a textured base, and mixes chalk directly with paint to give relief and depth to his compositions. For Lazard, creation is an act of metatextual transplantation, where signs, symbols, and language interweave to fill the void of the compositional process.

At the heart of his process lies a mystical and liberating concept, which he likens to Butoh dance: the dissolution of the self. Lazard shares that when he paints, he seeks to "disappear" so that the artwork can create itself, thereby breaking the paradigms of realism to summon characters that emerge from deep within the unconscious mind. His work fluidly explores the existence of the everyday, spirituality, the complexity of human relationships, and the shifting boundaries between figuration and abstraction.
